Why blame Steve Bartman?
I was watching a show and it all made sense. The Cubs could've rebounded but didn't. There was still Game & and they blew it. Also after the play, Gonzalez's error could've ended the inning with a DP. Dusty Baker didn't come out to argue the call of not fan interference and never made a pitching change when the Marlins tied it. Also there was a chance the Marlins were better. The Cubs could've gotten 3 outs after the Bartman play and gave up 8 runs. The marlins also won Game 7 which the Cubs could've won. Also Moises Alou urined on his hands before the game. if they knew that, the fans would basically let him get the ball. It was on Top 5 reasons you can't blame _____. Also Bartman's ball was blown up and used for spaghetti sauce. LOL. But really why blame him.
It's called accountability. Nobody wants to blame themselves so they look for somebody to put the blame on. Thousands of people would have done the same thing as Bartman did in that situation. As you said the Cubs had more chances that game plus a whole other game and they didn't come through.
Another person who is falsely blamed is Bill Buckner. A lot of people think his error cost the Red Sox the series but the game was actually tied at the time so even if he makes the play they're playing another inning. And again, the Red Sox also had a game 7 they could have won but they didn't.
