Baseball Card Appraisal
i have about 6,000 baseball cards from 1951-1990, all in excellent condition. Would they be worth anything?
Not a big fan of baseball, but I know I have alot of good cards. Babe Ruths, Jackie Robinsons, all the greats from 1951-1990. I have 6-7 books full, and 4-5 Topps complete box sets, the packs of cards inside never opened; one of the boxes itself has never been opened, with the original factoy seal still in place. Not really looking to sell just wanting to get an appraisal, I guess. Thanks
You may actually have a small fortune in hand. Don't do anything with them until you've done your home work. Beckett publication will help you a great deal. It's a magazine devoted to baseball cards. The condition of any card is most important and can actually dictate the value of each.
If there is a baseball card shop in your area it may help you gain more knowledge concerning your collection. Whenever possible try not to handle the cards with your bear hands. The oil in your skin can damage the cards. Plastic jackets or a baseball card binder would be helpful in protecting the cards. Find out if someone in your family has knowledge of baseball. That also would be a big help. Good luck with your new endeavor. Sounds really interesting.Have fun with it!
