Batting Gloves Wall
Do you think the coach will overlook this during tryouts?
Today was the first day and I play right field.
I was the only freshman out there for outfield and only 1 more jv girl was out there (sophmore)
The rest of jv tryout people were infield or didn't know what they were so they where put with infield.
I did ok on pop flies and grounders, I caught most but a few came out of my glove or got by me. I got the majority of them.
I BOMB batting, I didn't hit one ball. The coach had to show me how to bunt ( I learned the wrong way) But I think I got my stance and stuff right after she showed me, but I still missed the ball. The pitching machine was lower than I am use to. There are 18 girls trying for jv!
on conditioning I did 36 situps (one min time limit) 7 push ups and like 1 minute in wall sits.
We have tomorrow for tryouts, and can bat again then.
Sounds like you're ahead of the girls who dont' even know what position to play and behind some of the others who hit well. Just relax tomorrow when batting. You've seen the pitching machine now so you know it's lower than you're used to. Be ready. Don't try to kill the ball. Just make some contact. Also show a good attitude. Be early. Pay attention. Don't goof around. Cheer on your teammates even though you're competing with them now. Coaches look at things like that. Best of luck to you. I hope you make it.
