a Yankee fan I see, I'm sorry for your season, apologies in advance, may I reccomend you get a better owner? Not one that thinks they can buy heart? LOL Ok sorry I had to take my poke. I used to live in queens till last year, and it's a little tough being a boston fan.
Boston is going to win the east this year, I'm sorry but NY dug thier own grave early on. Toronto might give them a run but this race is pretty much done barring a rash of some freak season ending injuries, and NY will discover this year what it's like to not be in the playoffs.
I like Cleveland to overtake both Chicago and Detroit as the powerhouse in the Central. They've got some good pitchers and a nice budding young offence and I think they will take the Central. With Detroit taking the wild card.
Out West, Oakland will outlast the Angles and the ever aging Bartolo Colon to take the west by about 3 games overall
In the NL The mets take the east no doubt there, but Atlanta will give them a good run for it and Philly will also push them, but in the end, the Phillies are the odd man out of that race and It's the Mets and Atlanta going to the playoffs.
In the Central, prounouce St. Louis dead, the Astros have taken over and keep an eye out on Milwaukee
Out in the West, everyone is on the Dodger bandwagon, but I just don't believe in them yet. Keep the Padres on your periscope because they are going to emerge from below and win the west.
First round of the playoffs has some tough matchups
Boston beats out Detroit because of home field in a slugfest series, Detroit stung by big Papi in game 5 in Boston, vows to avenge this next year. Boston moves on to the championship round
The upstart Cleveland team plays honorable mention and wins 1 and is close in the other three but the veteran Oakland team overcomes them and advances to the championship for the first time in years.
In the NL,
Round 1 you get the Mets and Atlanta in a classic duel of two super line ups, but the Mets still have a bitter taste in thier mouth from last year, and they have home field on thier bitter rivals and outlast the Braves in five tough games.
The upstart Padres are a darkhorse that Houston has trouble figuring out. Carlos Lee however parks a series shifting grand slam in game 2 and Houston goes on to win in 4 and face the Mets.
Boston and Cleveland go six games, and Cleveland has served notice that they are a powerhouse in the making by winning 2 games, but the experience and line up plus playing with the Green Monster at thier backs, Boston goes back to the World Series riding Dice K mania, and throwing Sushi in Boston becomes an overnight fad. Go figure...
Carlos Lee, (Small Big Papi) shocks Tom Glavine in game 1 in the 7th inning and the Astros steal game 1. Pedro is back and he throws 8 shut out innings with 14 strike outs in game 2, then goes and wears a half cut out mango on his head for a hat... The series goes back to Houston, and the Mets take 2 out of three victimizing Brad Lidge in game 5 to send it back to Shea...Game six goes into extra innings with Tom Glavine pitching a masterful gem in a tight duel with Roy Oswalt. Oswalt wins the strike outs battle, Glavine gets three double plays to stay in the game till the 7th when out of the bullpen comes Duaner Sanchez who spent most of his season on the DL to strike out Carlos Lee with the bases loaded in the 8th to set up Wagner closing the door in the 9th to return the Mets to the Series.
The mets remember the butt kicking they recieved at the hands of Boston last year, and fight valiently in game 1 but lose both in Boston. Like the 86 series, the Mets are on the verge in game 6 at home...but only this time, there is no Calvin Shiraldi to blow it, there is only Mike Timlin, the aging vetran of the line up, and there is no Bob Stanly, the poor ill fated man, there is only Jonathan Papplebon and there is no Bill Buckner at 1st base, there he is, Big Papi himself is playing the field in game 6, what was Francona thinking??? It pays off though, and Papi silences his fielding critics, and is the recipient of the last out for the 07 world series. This time there is no mystery ball controversy because he gave it to Manny to sell on ebay.
