Question about personal Protection?
Nine years ago, when I was 12, my best friends schizophrenic brother and two of his friends kidnapped me and raped and tortured me over the course of 6 days. I should have died and in all honesty it might have benn better if I had. The ringleader is dead, he died in prison, but one of the others comes up for parole shortly after the first of the year. Bear in mind all three of these men threatened to find me and kill me as soon as they got out. I now have a family and a life of my own. I also have ppo's agisndt the two that are still alive, I have a fully trainde attack dog, (pit bull). I have a ccw permit and a .50 cal. Desert Eagle with an 8 round clip, And I am very precise with it, for it being a handgun. I have my home fully alarmed, and Victim Advocacy informs me every time one of them so much as sneezes. Do I have all my bases covered? Before I am accused of being paranoid, think of the fact that I was in the hospital for 8 months and it took me years to get my life back.
That does indeed sound like you have all your bases covered. I might consider a smaller caliber handgun that could be more concealable, and also be much less likely to produce the undesirable effect of potentially passing through your inteded target and into another accidental one. A .38 or 9 mm might be more in line with a personal defense mentality.
