How do I go about selling baseball cards?
I have about 4,000 baseball cards that someone left behind but I have no idea what values they have. It's a mix of cards and there's older ones and the almost all of the cards are in excellent condition. What is the best way for me to get rid of them? Can I sell them in a bulk and if so how much should I expect to get? Help! I have no idea and I need some extra cash.
As an avid card collector myself, I would first want to know how much my cards are worth. You can go to a book store like Books A Million, and look for a price guide. Beckett puts out the most complete book out there. It will give you the prices for every single card produced! I use this religiously when I'm selling or buying. This kind of gives you an idea of what to ask for or expect to get for a card.
I would sell on ebay but I would not sell in bundles! You would make more by selling each card individually. It is more time consuming but definitely the way to go for the more expensive cards. Now, for the cheaper cards I would try and sell in lots 10 or more or even by teams. Like sell a lot of ten Dodgers players or Yankees, etc. If you have a local Hobby Store, you may want to try there first. Ebay takes a little time to sell and then get your money.
Also, if you sell on Ebay or anywhere online, try and include a picture of what you're selling. Either by scanning or a digital picture. It helps your item sell quicker and most likely get more money. People want to see what they're buying. I hope this helps and good luck!
