making candle from old Yankee Candle Jars, the new wax mix does not dry evenly in jar?
I melted two Yankee Candle Jars that had 1/4 of wax in each. I poured the two melted waxes after boiling into one of the jars, dipped the wick, and let dry. The final product is flawed... the wax did not dry evenly in the jar... theres a depression in the center and the wax around the outer edges dried higher up... kinda like a bowl... How do i get my new wax mixture to dry evenly in the jar?
thank you all for your imput! I will try another 'experiment' tonight and try to cool it quickly in the refrigerator.
After you melt the wax, directly pour it into the middle of the jar without touching the sides as much as possible. Then, quickly put it in the fridge or a cooler so that the wax could dry faster because wax tends to slick to the sides of the jar when evenly spreaded. If it still doesnt help, just add more melted wax onto the center of the dried wax to fill up the hole.
