Glossy Black Out
Inherited a studio w/a black & white tile floor. Need some design suggestions?
I just moved back home last year from college and want to stay here for a while to help my parents and my pockets out. But the efficiency/studio that I will be staying in was added on to the house in like the 80's so it has black & white marble tile floors and bland white walls. I wanted to spruce it up by adding some design features and some accessories. I was going to paint the bed I already own which is this fake wood a glossy black and the two smaller walls black as well. Any suggestions or warnings anyone would like to share?
Don't paint any walls black. It will make the studio look much smaller and your parents will have a horrible time if they ever want to paint it a lighter color.
Keep the walls one color.
I find black/white/red to be very 80s, but if it is really what you want, keep the walls white, paint the furniture black and use red accessories. Personally, I'd go with yellow walls but if you want something more masculine, try very, very light grey walls, black furniture and black/white/grey accessories.
