What are CC Sabathia's chances of staying in Cleveland?
Saw the same question but about Johan Santana. Sparked an idea. Anyways, Sabathia(contract up after 2008) has constantly stated he would like to stay in Cleveland even if it is for less moeny. However if he asks for a fat contact the Indians owner(Dolan)has been known to let some players go. Dolan has signed Westbrook and Hafner so he is clearly commited towards the team winning. It's not that they can't afford to sign him either so take that out of your answer. I am being somewhat optimistic but what % chance do you give him of being on the Indians in 2009 and later?
I will say 100%. Im absolutely positive Cleveland will not let him go. Sabathia is the best pitcher on the Indians roster in my opinion, and it wouldnt surprise me if he got a 5 or 6 year extension this season or next season. Sabathia is one of those guys who seems like hes been around forever and is getting old, but the guy is only 27. Sabathia in his career is 95-62(at the time of this answer) with a 3.88 ERA. I dont see any chance he'll leave the Indians. No chance. And to the guy who said Santana and Sabathia are headed to New York. You're an idiot.
