Why is Puckett shown in infield gear?

The above links to an imageshack album, featuring a 1996 Upper Deck Kirby Puckett card. My question is why is he shown playing what looks like second base? I understand a lot of what goes into a yearly card set is sometimes taken during spring training and I know this was one of his last UD issues, per his injury, but I was not aware of him every playing the infield in a game...
I looked over at baseball reference, and it seems he did play one inning at 2B in 1995, recording one assist.

Kirby Puckett DH-2B-SS-3B-2B recording an assist on Spike Owen who appears to be the sliding member, and based on jersey number on batting helmet, cross-referenced with the Angels jersey roster for 1995, this game occured September 10th, 1995, the play occured in the bottom of the 9th.

Most likely he was just clowning around. Some ballplayers are kind of cavalier towards the picture taking for ball cards, especially if they are veterans. It is like "been there--done that", so they try to mix it up a bit.
