Why have the Cubs lost 5 playoff games in a row under Lou Piniella?
Before game 2 Lou Piniella said that if the cubs lose game 2 they might aswell forfeit game 3 in los angeles...Cubs fan how do you feel about your managers loser attitude?
also 3 of the cubs players said it was do or die, going by their managers & players loser mentality is that why the Cubs never win?
BTW i have never heard a manager or players in any sport quit after just 1 game...
Actually, when you really think about it, Cubs rotation is not that strong this and last season. Line up is getting better each season but a lot of good line up could perform horribly and defence can collapse as well. That is why it is all come down to dominant pitching and builds on that your defence and offense can work efficiently.
A lot of people would think the rotation this year might be the best rotation for the cubs in years but do you really think Ryan, Carlos and Rich are better than Kerry Wood and Mark Prior and Carlos combo? Yeah, the rotation this year can go through regular season with ease because their rotation is extremely deep with Lily in the back plus there are really not much hole in that team. Playoffs are different. One great game from Webb or Lowe here and there and the series are gone. Yeah, they are facing the tough pitching but the most potent line up in NL did not performance is the fact. Plus, Zambrano is very good but he is no Kerry Wood or Mark Prior, I don’t care what critics says.
Therefore, it is not manager’s fault. Want the team to win, get better pitchers then.
