USC is the unanimous #1 Team in the Nation...who disagrees and why?
USC is once again looking real good on paper.
They have the best LB and Safety core in the nation, and they also have #1 rated Defensive Tackle Fili Moala (replacing Sedrick Ellis). On the otherside of the ball, they have the dynamic Joe McKnight and WR's Patrick Turner and Vidal Hazelton. The only flaw I see is Mark Sanchez at QB, but that's only because he's not experienced like the other Pac-10 QBs. Sanchez is very talented (#1 HS QB prospect in 2005) and backup Mitch Mustain (#1 HS QB prospect in 2004). I don't see any flaws to them. I think the Buckeyes are only a step behind the Trojans, they have a ton of future NFL stars, but I'm not sure they could step up in the big games. Whats your take on this?
O-line should not be a problem...they just recruited the #1 OT in HS right now. Matt Khalil (younger brother of Trojan alumni Ryan Khalil).
USC is a very good football team and if things go right they could very well be number 1. Look this year and years to come a team going unbeaten is a tall order. Outside the fact that they do have a tough schedule playing Ohio St this year and I also believe they have Virginia a very improved team on the schedule too, that plus the Pac 10 where every team is going to be gunning for them makes it tough for them to go unbeaten this year.
Same goes for the other favorites too, Georgia has murder for there schedule not to mention the SEC conference, Ohio St well they play as you know your Trojans and that tough Big 10 schedule.
West Virginia has a tough road game against Colorado and a tough home game against Aurburn
not to mention a Pittsburgh team expecting to have a break out year and WVU menance S. Florida. Who ends up number 1 , wow, this is going to be a very exciting year for college football because there are so many teams that are very tough. We can actually say that finally there is parity in college football, and I dont see it down playing in the future either. USC has a great chance at being number 1 but a host of other teams do to. Just get behind them and cheer em on is all I can advice. Cause right now, anyone can tell me who is definately the best team in college football is high on something or just a loyal fan of there team hopeing the outcome come true. My picks of who has shot at being number 1 at end of season and they go in order as to highest chance being 1 and the lowest chance being 5 are the following. 1) Georgia
2) Ohio St 3) USC 4) Oklahoma 5) West Virginia
