New York Yankees Free Agent signings 2010?
Yankees have some decisions to make with signing players/resigning players.
I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE THE YANKEES TO RESIGN DAMON, BECAUSE HE IS A VERY IMPORTANT PART OF THE YANKEES LINEUP AND DEFENSE even though his arm stinks.
Yankees should let matsui go back to Japan after the 09 world series, even though he is a very important piece of the lineup, he is too expensive and has been slowed down from knee injuries.
what do you guys say for matsui's replacement since he is highly unlikely to return to NY:

RF/DH-Vladimir Guerrerro.
He would be a perfect fit for NY, i think that he will be signed to NY what is your opinion?
Also, Yankees need to add 2 more starters in my opinion so that they can win a lot more because Boston will be hungry, and so that c.c. a.j. and pettitte if he even comes back.... don't get tired.
Who signs with NY next season?
I don't think the Yankees will give Damon as many years as he'll probably want and probably deserves because of their young outfielders who are developing, including Melky, Gardner, and Austin Jackson. They need someone to fill the void while they develop, but with Swisher under contract anyway and Nady going for a bargain off an injury plagued season, I don't see the Yankees really able to offer Damon what he deserves, which is a contract to take him into retirement. I'd hate to see him go, but Boston may be a better fit. I would like to see them look at a trade for Carl Crawford or someone else explosive who can be a bridge while their young guys develop.
As for their rotation:
The Yanks have 2 solid arms on the mound and a bunch of big question marks with some great potential. Their rotation will start off with CC and AJ. Andy will be back, but it's hard to say what he can do from one year to the next at his age. He was great in 2009, but not in 2008, so we'll see. Wang had possibly the best start to a career ever, but since his injury he's been terrible when he's played and he hasn't played much. If he can be Wang again, he'll be the #2 starter behind CC, but you never know.
The Yankees have a relatively cheap 2010 option on Mitre which they'll probably take to give them some options. Then they have (and I hate this name) "generation tre", AKA Joba (who will probably be in the pen), Hughes (who will probably get another chance to start and see what he can do), and Ian Kennedy (who has earned another shot after his injury season this year). There's some other minor league prospects too.
That's enough for the Yankees to find a good rotation without a trade or a free agent signing, but not so steady that they won't be looking to see who's out there. John Lackey is probably the best free agent pitcher out there this year (unless for some reason the Red Sox don't pick up Beckett's 2010 option, but I'm sure they'll keep him at $12 million for the year and probably negotiate an extension in the off season). There's a number of decent #3 starters too who might interest the Yankees, but I don't think they'll be as aggressive this year as they were last year.
The Yankees are not going to sign Vlad. He's essentially a DH and the Yankees don't need a DH. Posada is going to start his transition to DH in 2010 as Cerveli and Montero start taking over some of the catching duties.
EDIT: With his age and ability, if the Yankees can sign Holliday, which they probably can, it would be worth tying up one of their outfield spots for the long term and you can drop Nady. The 3 young Yankee outfielders can compete for 2 spots and rotate around as needed. And with their speed, it's not too hard to use them off the bench either.
