Ruth Gehrig First

Put the greatest player from each position in baseball history.?
Like pitcher Bob Gibson... ETC. Mine is Pitcher: Bob Gibson Catcher: Johnny Bench First Baseman: Lou Gehrig Second Baseman: Jackie Robinson Third Baseman: Alex Rodriguez ( He's a good player and I don't care if he used steroids. That's the past. ) Shortstop: Derek Jeter Left Field: Hank Aaron Center Field: Ted Williams Right Field: Babe Ruth Manager: Casey Stengel
I refuse to use Steroid players before anyone has anything to say about me leaving off players: The Best player ever in Baseball History (Ruth) wouldn't make my list as an OF because his defense sucked compared to Griffey, Mays, and Hank who all three are his equal with the bat. Ruth's pitching record along with his batting makes him the best but not good enough to crack a list by position as an OF or Pitcher.
C Bench
1st Eddie Murray 287 504 1917, 3255 Hits, switch hitter, top 10 RBIS, HRs, Hits, 5 gold gloves
2nd TIE Joe Morgan and Pete Rose. if Pete stayed at 2nd it's him but he didn't play whole career
SS Banks , lets not forget only Arod and Banks had 500 HRs as a SS
3rd Frank Robinson
OF Griffey
OF Hank
OF Mays
DH Ted Williams 344 521 1839 while losing 5 years of playing time to WWII and Korea. This guy was last to win triple Crown and hit 400 as well. If he just had decent seasons by his standards during the lost years at war, Ted would have been the RBI and HR King in baseball. with a 344 career average
I felt the need to explain Murray because he got over shadowed much of his career but the guys career stats are top 10 plus he got it done with the glove and was a switch hitter. Williams is a must have as DH, only Phat ALbert comes close to him and Albert has got to keep doing about 10-14 more years to get close.
No steroids or dead ball issues with these five. All got 300 or more wins and are in the top ten in everything you could ask for.
SP Maddux
SP Glavine
SP Ryan
SP Seaver
SP Carlton
Closers TIE Eckersley and Smoltz. Forget the saves these guys had both had 200 wins to.
Manager: Casey Stengel, Coaches: Bobby Cox and Sparky Anderson
Edited list and removed Arod from SS, he is roid user, sorry.
