Is your favorite NHL team doing anything special for the holidays?
The Pittsburgh Penguins send out Christmas cards and gifts to season ticket holders every year, of course. They also do an auction for charity. Last season it was ornaments signed by the players' and decorated by their wives/girlfriends.
This season it's stockings (decored by the players' wives/girlfriends again) and gifts. They're pretty cool, and they let you see a glimpse of some of the players' personalities:

So, does your team do anything spiffy?
the hurricanes are visiting 4 local children's hospitals monday afternoon, and 4 players are taking 4 children from the local boys and girls club on a christmas shopping trip to target to buy presents for the kids' families later that afternoon; each kid is going with one player. the team is pretty involved with childrens' charities year-round though. they conducted their annual toy drive, with a buy one get one free ticket voucher deal for the 12/12 game in exchange for a new toy. they are holding a canned food drive december 18, and a clothing drive december 28 - january 2. i'm not a season ticket holder, as i live 2 1/2 hours from the arena, so i don't know if they do anything special for the fans like that. but they do have a party on new year's eve after the game that's always pretty fun.
