What are the rules on photographing people?
Do celebrities have the right to sue people if they haven't signed a release for a photograph's use? What about regular people? What constitutes fair use, and where are the blurry lines? Why do you still need a release from people in a photo if the photo itself is public domain? What are the applicable laws?
That's pretty good so far, thanks. But why do you need to have permission from a 'model' to use their image in commercial work?
Well in a public place where the person has no expectation of privacy it's pretty much fair game, of course if your running up to their faces or something like that it could be harassment
